The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM) has come a long way since its inception in 1964, training thousands of young men and women in the multifaceted fields of hospitality and travel.

Having rendered a yeoman service to the nation, the Institute is now poised to take a quantum leap. As Sri Lanka invents herself as a new destination and one of the safest places in the world for holiday makers to visit, the Tourism Industry too is poised towards a new paradigm shift.

Our current task is two-fold. One is to increase the capacity to produce more professionals into management and operational fields of the industry and the other, is to uplift accepted quality norms, even above ‘International Standards'.

SLITHM's vision is to move beyond borders and shine as an acclaimed leading tourism training institute in the region.
