The first provincial / satellite hotel school in Bandarawela was initially started in 1999 and later on after the new hotel school building was built by the Uva Provincial council, the current institute was opened in year 2004.

While certificate level courses in Professional Cookery, Hotel Reception, Restaurant & Bar Service, and Hotel House Keeping are offered, the facilities of the Bandarawela Hotel School include modern Lecture rooms, well equipped kitchen, training restaurant, mockup rooms, computer Laboratory and Library.
