Craft Course

This course is fully structured 3 month course program to train beginners to enhance their skills and knowledge. The aim of this course is to train beginners with basic knowledge & skills to take up employment in the Hospitality Industry at entry-level jobs. The balance period of the course is devoted to theory and practicals relating to the relevant discipline. On successful completion of this course, and acquisition of one (01) year of industrial experience, a student will be eligible to apply for the Certificate Level of the Diploma In Hotel & Catering Operations in the relevant discipline.


Encourage the school leavers to join the tourism industry by educating them about vast
range of career opportunities available.

Provide an introduction to hospitality management in general. The learner will
understand the background/ culture, components of the industry

Perform required technical and soft skills to work as a trained /competent craftsman in
FO/HK/F&B/Cookery department in a tourist establishment.

Gain ability to work in different working environments by meeting guest expectations.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will gain opportunities to further
study in programs offered by SLITHM.

Course Content

The foundation course is the gateway for students who have and interest in hospitality to venture in to a fulfilling career in hospitality field. Hospitality sector is a dynamic field where new concepts and practices proliferate regularly. This course will cover basic concepts of hotel operation and lay the foundation for hospitality as a profession. This qualification ideally suited for novices in the field of hospitality.
